I bring you great tidings of good joy: I will be out of town this Tuesday. But so you don't feel neglected and because Robert Nesbit says I don't have positive suggestions, here are a couple.. Don't run the city further in debt. Look at the chart of unfunded CPI projects below. If you can't tell the public how you will pay for the work, don't start! Buy your way out of the Ekwill-Fowler mess. For nine million it is a steal. You still have the property that was taken by eminent domain. Come back with just Ekwill street, that will serve the new old town developments well. Skip the traffic circle until you can afford them, Give up on destroying Old Town. Ekwill will have a Class 1 bike path and provide bike safety through Old Town.

Sell the train station, Pay back the grants. Rezone the property for housing.

Figure out how you can pay for the outstanding projects.

If you don't intend to ever build the Brandon Overcrossing or Fire Station 10 then announce that and get the projects off the books.

But really $225,341,287 of unfunded or TBD costs? Where is your sense of fiduciary responsibility?

Richard Foster
