Dear Mayor Perotte and Councilmembers:
I fully support the Standing Naming Committee’s recommendation to name Potter’s Point at Ellwood Mesa/Sperling Preserve, after the late local artist, Christopher Potter.
Chris was a witty, gentle soul with incredible artistic talent and he is sorely missed. Having grown up going this beach frequently, I can think of no better location that will honor Chris and serve as a remembrance for those who knew him.
I am also supportive of the request from Supervisor Capps’ office to install a commemorative bench at the proposed “Potter's Point” to further honor Christopher Potter's legacy.
Sincerely,
Das Williams, First District Supervisor

Just want to share my support for the idea of Potter’s Point. It would be fitting to name it for someone who truly appreciated the beauty of our coastline and then shared that beauty with so many through his art.
It would be a wonderful gesture that his family and friends would appreciate.
Thank you.
