I would like to offer a public comment regarding item 2.
Old Town Goleta businesses would benefit much more with the addition of a Google Business View tour than receiving and advertisement about the benefits of a tour.
With that, I would like to revise my grant request to allow for the direct creation of the tours.
Each business requesting a tour would receive:
Google Business Profile Setup
• Verifying or claiming each business’s profile on Google • Adding up-to-date contact info, business hours and at least one professional Store Front and one Interior still photo.
360° Google Business Tours (Street View Integration)
• Creating a virtual tour inside each business
• Publishing them directly to Google Maps & Search
• Helping attract more foot traffic and customer trust online A $3000 grant would support 10 business tours, the original request for $12000 would support 40 tours. If emails announcing this service could be sent to the businesses directly from the POP Program, it would eliminate the need to advertise, allowing the funds to go directly to tour creation.
In addition to the Businesses of Old Town, tours could also be created to promote City Services such as the new parks and Community Center.
