Subject: $10 million construction contract to improve conditions on select roads throughout the city
I am writing to voice my concerns about improvement of road conditions in Goleta. I see that in the plan to allocate funds, the council is focussing on eastern Goleta. Storke Road is also listed. However, the one road that needs work on and is a hazard to cyclists is Pacific Oaks Road between Hollister and Phelps, especially going northbound. I am surprised that this road is being overlooked. It is heavily used, especially with sports practices at Girsh Park. Why is this road not being addressed? As I have said, this is a hazard to cyclists
whether they are traveling north or south on Pacific Oaks but also crossing over the road from east to west or vice versa. I highly urge the council to consider allocating fund to pave this road as soon as possible.
