STAFF REPORT
TO: Honorable Mayor Rios and City Council
DATE: February 7, 2022
FROM: Patrick Dobbins, Public Works Director/City Engineer THROUGH: René L. Mendez, City Manager
SUBJECT: Resolution No.2022-11 Extending the Expiration Date for the Tentative Parcel Map for the RC Farms Minor Subdivision by One Year

RECOMMENDATION
It is Recommended that City Council Adopt Resolution No. 2022-11, A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Gonzales extending the expiration date for the Tentative Parcel Map for the RC Farms Minor Subdivision by one year.

BACKGROUND

The Tentative Parcel Map for the RC Farms Minor Subdivision was approved at the March 18, 2019 Gonzales City Council meeting. The applicant’s land surveyor has submitted the final map twice for City staff’s review and comments from the City Surveyor were returned to RC Farms’ land surveyor.

Due to unexpected changes in the ownership structure of the involved parcels, there has been a delay in City staff receiving final title reports from the applicant’s land surveyor to confirm who has the legal authority to sign the parcel map.

REVIEW & ANALYSIS
The State Subdivision Map Act provides for an initial two year period after a City Council’s approval of a tentative map during which the map document shall be finalized and presented for recordation with the County Recorder. At the March 1, 2021 City Council meeting, a one year extension for review and approval of the parcel map was approved.

Over the last four months, City staff has periodically contacted RC Farms and inquired about the ownership structure of the involved parcels and it’s our understanding this is nearly finalized. As the AGENDA
