AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF GONZALES AND

THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR MONTEREY COUNTY
This Agreement, for sharing T-Mobile “hotspot devices” is between the City of Gonzales and the Community Foundation for Monterey County (Community Foundation) (together sometimes referred as the “Parties”) from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022 for a period of 1 retroactive month for the month of January; and WHEREAS, the City of Gonzales purchased 2,000 hotspots at the end of 2019 and started handing them out to the public at the start of 2020 before the COVID-19 Pandemic; and WHEREAS, the lockdowns of 2020 and the need for distance learning made us think outside the box and look at creative ways to still be effective and even pushed us to be more collaborative and support other entities with the surplus of hotspots that we now owned; and WHEREAS, in January of 2021 the City of Gonzales after starting our own Community Health Worker program to aid the fight against the Pandemic joined forces with the Health Department and the Community Foundation for Monterey County and became part of the VIDA project; and
WHEREAS, one of the needs of the VIDA Community Health Workers was to have easy access to wifi services; and
WHEREAS, Community Health Workers from the VIDA project were already using City of Gonzales Hotspots provided to them through a contract with the Monterey County Health Department; and
WHEREAS, the Community Foundation for Monterey County thought it was important to continue to provide access to broadband so that the Community Health Workers could continue doing their work to combat the Pandemic across the County; and WHEREAS, the City of Gonzales, the County and the Community Foundation, among others are working in partnership to support the work of the Community Health Workers; and WHEREAS, the City of Gonzales agrees to continue lending the Community Foundation for Monterey County 100 Hotspots so that the VIDA Community Health Workers can continue to have access to wifi services wherever they go; and
NOW THEREFORE, in mutual consideration of the covenants, terms, and conditions set forth herein, the Parties agree as follows:
• That the City of Gonzales will lend 100 “hotspot” devices to the Community Foundation for Monterey County starting January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022;
• During this period, the Community Foundation for Monterey County will pay a fee of $15 per month, per “hotspot” until the program ends or until December 31, 2022 (whichever comes first) to the City of Gonzales;
