RESOLUTION NO. 2022-18
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES
APPROVING THE DESIGN CRITERIA DOCUMENTS FOR THE
COMMUNITY CENTER COMPLEX PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Community Center Complex will be comprised of a Community Center, a Monterey County Branch Library, a Teen Innovation Center; and a Gymnasium as an add alternative based on available funding; and
WHEREAS, at the July 19, 2021 Council meeting, Group 4 Architecture was authorized to prepare the Design Criteria Documents for the Community Center Complex Project as a subconsultant to Swinerton Management and Consulting; and WHEREAS, at the November 15, 2021 Council meeting, staff and the design consultant presented the results of the city’s extensive community engagement efforts between August and October 2021; and
WHEREAS, at the December 6, 2021 Council meeting, staff presented several options for the building configuration and site layout and the City Council directed staff to develop the Design Criteria Documents for the Teen Innovation Center, Library, Community Center and a stand-alone Gymnasium as an additive alternate; and
WHEREAS, after Council approval of the Design Criteria and the Design Build Entity shortlist, staff will issue the Request for Proposals to the shortlisted DBE teams; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Gonzales hereby approves the Design Criteria Documents for the Community Center Complex Project.
