SUBJECT: Community Engagement & Strategic Partnerships Activity Report Gonzales Rental Assistance
1. The Gonzales Rental Assistance is scheduled to end at the end of September, and we continue to work with an existing wait list in order to spend out the remaining funds we have left.
Community Health Workers (CHWs)
1. The Community Health Workers will be hosting a Community Resource Fair on Thursday, September 15th at the Joint Use gym from 5:30PM - 7:45PM. They have several speakers and organizations with informational tables scheduled to be present.
2. They also assisted with a Blood Drive held on August 13th at the fire house. While they were there, they also took the opportunity to provide resources and information regarding COVID-19 and other services.
3. They are working on a collaboration with the Fire Department in order to educate and train our Public Works Department on the use of Narcan, as they run the risk of encountering a potential substance while doing their clean up services in town.
4. For the month of August, the CHWs tested 106 people and continue to see a steady positive rate.
