RESOLUTION NO. 2022-74
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES
ACCEPTING THE SLURRY SEAL CONTRACT AS COMPLETE,
AUTHORIZING STAFF TO RECORD A NOTICE OF COMPLETION AND
RELEASE RETENTION MONIES TO THE CONTRACTOR
WHEREAS, using the City’s 2020 Pavement Management Report that included a visual inspection of each street in the city, staff developed a list of streets to be included in this year’s Slurry Seal Contract: and
WHEREAS, on June 9, 2022, the City received two bids for the Slurry Seal Contract, and the lowest responsive and responsible bid was provided by VSS International: and
WHEREAS, at the June 20, 2022, City Council meeting, a $380,000 contract with VSS International was approved: and
WHEREAS VSS International began field operations on August 29, 2022, and construction was deemed complete on October 7, 2022.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Gonzales that the Slurry Seal Contract is hereby accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that within ten days of adoption of this Resolution, City staff shall file with the County Recorder a Notice of Completion and release retention monies to the Contractor.
