RESOLUTION NO. 2022-80
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A MASTER SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH LECHOWICZ & TSENG AND APPROVING TASK #1 FOR PREPARATION OF WATER AND SEWER RATE STUDIES FOR A NOT-TO-EXCEED FEE OF $68,000 WHICH INCLUDES A CONTINGENCY BUDGET OF $8,410
WHEREAS, by State law, the city’s water and sewer rates must cover the costs to operate, maintain, and upgrade the water and wastewater utilities.
WHEREAS, staff issued a Request for Proposals for preparation of Water and Sewer Rate Studies on August 10, 2022; and
WHEREAS, four proposals were received by the September 8, 2022 deadline and staff interviewed three firms on November 8, 2022; and
WHEREAS, a review committee ranked Lechowicz & Tseng as the top firm based on their proposal, interview, and reference checks; and
WHEREAS, funding for Task #1 will be with a combination of Water and Sewer Enterprise funds; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the Council authorize a Master Services Agreement with Lechowicz & Tseng for Task #1 which is preparation of Water and Sewer Rate Studies for a not-toexceed fee of $68,000.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized and further directed to prepare and execute a Master Services Agreement with Lechowicz & Tseng to prepare Water and Sewer Rate Studies for a not-to-exceed fee of $68,000.
