RESOLUTION NO. 2022-85
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GONZALES ACCEPTING THE EQUIP WELL 7 CONTRACT AS COMPLETE,
AUTHORIZE STAFF TO FILE A NOTICE OF COMPLETION WITH THE
COUNTY RECORDER, AND DIRECT STAFF TO RELEASE RETENTION
MONIES TO THE CONTRACTOR
WHEREAS, the City of Gonzales operates a municipal water system that produces and supplies water for approximately 1,920 connections (residential, commercial, and industrial users); and
WHEREAS, a new well was needed to replace Well 3 due to low production and cost to operate; and
WHEREAS, the Well 7 Project was delivered under three separate contracts; and WHEREAS, at the August 20, 2018 City Council Meeting, a $1,039,740 contract with Monterey Peninsula Engineering was authorized for the Equip Well 7 Contract; and WHEREAS, Monterey Peninsula Engineering began field operations in October 2018 and completed all punch list items in November 2022; NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Gonzales that the Equip Well 7 Contract is hereby accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that within ten days of adoption of this Resolution, City staff shall file with the County Recorder a Notice of Completion and release retention monies to the Contractor.
