Survey Data - Comments
What is your favorite part?
• Todo porque se ve bonito y te sientes seguro/a.

Yo miro personas mayores usando el espacio de
bicicletas para caminar porque se sienten
seguros. (Everything because it looks nice and you
feel safe. I see older people using the bike space to
walk because they feel safe.)
• The students were able to be creative and help
the bike lanes look very colorful and nice. I have
noticed cars do slow down as to not hit the tins or
drive onto the bike lanes. So it definitely improves
the safety of our children and community that
occupies the sidewalks.

What would you change?
• The curves and planters seem to be more of a
distraction. We don't have many bikers, we have a
lot of walkers but not bikers. We need speed bumps
throughout our city and school zones instead.
• Ya no se siente completo porque faltan los
barandales. Ahora ya nomas son plantas y no se
siente tan seguro (It no longer feels complete
because the barriers are missing. Now there are only
plants and it doesn't feel as safe.)
• Que se extienda el carril de bicicletas que se hizo
hasta la escuela La Gloria (Extend the bike lane to
La Gloria Elementary)

Staff Recommendation
The Council can direct city staff to move forward
on one of the following options:

1. Keep the pilot project in its current configuration.

2. Enhance the pilot project with green lane striping
and/or explore options for different barriers.

3. Restore striping to the pre-pilot project condition.
