Our City Sports leagues continue to grow each year, not only are there more participants in our programs but we have made more sports available to the public. There is also added interest in other sports leagues that we are attempting to start up with other cities. These funds allow us to continue to provide a verity of healthy activities and options for our residents. 8 $15,000 $326,000.00 This program began FY19/20. This is a partnership with Hartnell College that provides financial support, computers, and more important mentor and leadership support to first year students. 9 $0.00 $326,000.00 This program was supported in the past, but with the City receiving funds from the American Rescue Plan, it is currently being supported by those funds. 10 $76,000 $250,000.00
This allows the City to continue to provide aquatics programming to the entire community. The current pool fees do not offset the costs of pool repairs and staffing. These funds would allow us to continue providing an adequate of level of service and the staffing needed to run the facility. 11 $250,000 $0.00
The Gonzales Fire Department has a long and rich history of utilizing volunteers to cover the community, however, with the increase large fires that annually appear to plague the State, Cal Fire is keeping their temporary/seasonal positions longer, which has made it very difficult for department to maintain the number of volunteers needed. With the support of the TUT Measure K Committee, 3 eight-month seasonal fire fighter positions were approved and added in FY 2021-2022; however, because fire fighters are in such high demand and Cal Fire is making it more difficult to retain fire fighters, in order to provide the level of coverage needed for our Community the Council approved converting the three seasonal positions to full time.
Help offset the cost of 3 new fulltime Fire
Fighter positions to augment and maintain
the high level of fire services for the
community.
