RESOLUTION NO. 2023-42
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES
APPROVING A WATER SHORTAGE CONTINGENCY PLAN
WHEREAS, in September 2021, Senate Bill 552 was signed into law and requires small water suppliers serving 1,000 to 2,999 connections to have a Water Shortage Contingency Plan.
WHEREAS, the requirements for the water shortage contingency plan for small water suppliers are provided in California Water Code §10609.60.
WHEREAS, the City is mandated by Senate Bill 552 to prepare and adopt a Drought Contingency Plan.
WHEREAS, adoption of this plan is required by Senate Bill 552 and in the best interest of the community.
WHEREAS, staff recommends that the Council authorize adoption of the Water Shortage Contingency Plan.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Gonzales hereby adopts the Water Shortage Contingency Plan.
