SUBJECT: Agreement with C4 Consulting

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council approve and Authorize the City Manager to sign an Agreement with Michelle Slade, C4 Consulting, for rendering services that support Youth Leadership Development.

BACKGROUND
The City of Gonzales has been contracting with Michelle Slade since 2013 for services on various grants and projects. She has been instrumental in helping to develop and guide the Gonzales Youth Council (GYC). Her support continues to be a necessary asset as the City dives into high impact, large-scale projects with limited staff.

REVIEW AND ANALYSIS
The Gonzales Youth 21st Century Success Initiative continues to be a driving force of the City as the Council continues to prioritize supporting youth development and growing our own next level professionals. This Agreement continues to support the effort and ensures that there is continuity with the Youth Council as more internal capacity is developed.

The proposed contract specifically includes support around asset-based youth engagement and leadership development to continue fostering creativity and innovation through the Gonzales Youth 21st Century Success Initiative through a results-based collaborative effort with City staff. It also supports the ongoing model of peer-to-peer learning and support as it engages the leadership of a former GYC Alumni.

Continuing support for leadership development and capacity building is essential to meeting the Council’s vision and mission.
