SUBJECT: Fifth Street Truck Ban – Project Status
The Mayor requested the status of the subject project. The City Council approved Ordinance 2019-113 to ban trucks on Fifth Street between the US101/Fifth Street Interchange and Alta Street. GHD Consultants prepared the construction documents which will install signs along US101, Fifth Street and Alta Street. GHD also submitted the Caltrans Encroachment Permit. Staff submitted for a time extension for the Caltrans Encroachment Permit which is effective until 12/31/2023.
While the signs are being installed, staff will distribute the attached flyer to companies in the Industrial Business Park and commercial businesses in Gonzales and perform other outreach.
The project has been issued for public bid and below is the expected schedule:
