A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A MASTER SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH HARRIS
ASSOCIATES TO PROVIDE PROJECT AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR THE COMMUNITY CENTER COMPLEX PROJECT FOR AN INITIAL FEE OF $500,000 FOR SERVICES THROUGH JUNE 30, 2024 UNDER TASK ORDER 1
WHEREAS, design and construction of the Community Center Complex Project will be funded by a variety of sources including the Measure X (local sales tax), $5.0 M State grant secured by State Senator Anna Caballero, Community Development Block Grant monies, $1.8M County contribution to relocate existing library from the Gonzales Shopping Center, various grants, and a Capital Campaign with a $10 million goal; and
WHEREAS, as authorized by the City Council at the March 1, 2021 meeting, the City will use the Design-Build contracting approach to deliver this project; and WHEREAS, a Request for Proposals for Project/Construction Management services was issued on June 15, 2023 to various consultants; and
WHEREAS, on July 13, 2023, proposals were received from two consultants, and City staff interviewed the two teams on July 25, 2023. The interview panel scored Harris Associates as the top firm based on their proposal and interview; and
WHEREAS, City staff recommends execution of a Master Services Agreement with Harris Associates to provide Project/Construction Management services on the Community Center Complex Project at an estimated fee of $452,876, and establish a contingency budget of $47,124 for a total of $500,000 for services through June 2024 under Task Order 1.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Gonzales that the City Manager is authorized to execute a Master Services Agreement with Harris Associates to provide Project/Construction Management services on the Community Center Complex Project at an estimated fee of $452,876, and establish a contingency budget of $47,124 for a total authorization of $500,000 for services through June 2024 under Task Order 1 PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Gonzales duly held on the 18th day of September 2023, by the following vote:
