RESOLUTION NO. 2023-64
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES
REJECTING ALL PROPOSALS RECEIVED BY THE CITIES OF GONZALES,
SOLEDAD, GREENFIELD, AND KING (CITIES) TO SELECT A QUALIFIED
CONTRACTOR TO COLLECT SOLID WASTE, RECYCLABLES, AND ORGANIC
WASTE WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF EACH CITY AS A SINGLE FRANCHISE
COLLECTION ZONE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Gonzales authorized the Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority to release for a Request for Proposals on behalf of the City of Gonzales due on June 30, 2023; and,
WHEREAS, three proposals were received and evaluated; and, WHEREAS, the received proposals provided overall higher than expected customer rates; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed for, and on behalf of, the City Council of the City of Gonzales to reject all proposals received on June 30, 2023; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed for, and on behalf of, the City of Gonzales to carry out all that is necessary to give effect to that direction.
