A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES
AWARDING THE FIFTH STREET TRUCK BAN SIGNAGE PROJECT
TO CHRISP COMPANY AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH CHRISP COMPANY IN
THE AMOUNT OF $71,523 WITH A CONTINGENCY BUDGET OF $8,477 FOR
UNANTICIPATED FIELD CHANGES
WHEREAS, to remove heavy vehicle traffic on Fifth Street between US101 and Alta Street the City Council adopted Ordinance 2019-113 that designated the following streets as authorized truck routes:
• All of Alta Street; and
• The portion of Gonzales River Road situated in the city limits; and WHEREAS, the City issued the Fifth Street Truck Ban Signage Project (“Project”) for public bid on July 17, 2023; and
WHEREAS, on August 17, 2023 the City received a bid from the following contractor:

1 Chrisp Company, Fremont, CA $71,523.00
WHEREAS, City staff reviewed the bid and determined that Chrisp Company provided a responsive and responsible bid; and
WHEREAS, this project will be funded by Industrial Business Park Benefit Assessment reserve monies (Budget Fund 316); and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Gonzales is awarding the Fifth Street Truck Ban Signage Project to Chrisp Company.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized and further directed to prepare and execute an agreement with Chrisp Company in the amount of $71,523 with a contingency budget of $8,477 for unanticipated field changes and amend the FY 2023/24 City Budget by increasing the Industrial Business Park Benefit Assessment (Fund 316) Contractual Services - General (Object Code 6245) by $80,000.
