City Manager Gil kicked off the month of October with a presentation to the Gonzales Rotary. She shared exciting news about the Gonzales Community Center groundbreaking set to take place in April. The Rotarians are excited about the opportunities the new Community Center will bring to the community, and are looking for ways to support the project.

• City staff continues to meet with Otto Construction and WRNS to solidify the design specifications.

The 100% Design Documents were submitted to the City, and the City and User Groups are now reviewing them and will be submitting the final comments to the team shortly. Once the Otto and WRNS Team has received final comments, they move into developing the construction documents which prepare us for the groundbreaking we’ve all been waiting for! Economic Development and Revenue Generation
• Staff is working to process a few business permits for new businesses coming into the community. • On November 15th, Burger Pupuseria Liliana will be opening its doors where the old Burger Queen is located. It will be offering a fusion of Salvadorian food and fast food. It will be open daily from 9:00am - 9:00pm.

Community Engagement
• City staff has been working with MST to develop a circulator route for our community, which will get people from throughout the community to one of the main bus stops every 30-40 minutes so that they can take the MST bus to their destination.
• City staff has been connecting with our partners at Taylor Farms regularly. On October 17th, City Directors, along with the Mayor, received a tour of the facility and got to see the latest technology being deployed.
• The Community-wide Garage Sales that were held on October 14th and 15th, were a great success.

The City registered 90 garage sales and coordinated with our friends at Tri-Cities Disposal & Recycling to take additional items that the community wished to dispose of the following weekend at their clean-up event. All around, it was successfully coordinated. Tri-Cities saw many residents bring in their unsold and unwanted items the following weekend, including an astonishing amount of clothing donations that filled up a truck; not once, but twice!
