RESOLUTION NO. 2023-69
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES
ESTABLISHING THE JOB CLASSIFICATION OF A POLICE OFFICER RECRUIT,
ADOPTING A JOB DESCRIPTION, APPROVING THE CLASSIFICATION OF A TEMPORARY – SHORT TERM POSITION, AND ESTABLISHING A NEW SALARY WHEREAS, the Police Department currently has a gap in positions needed to implement a succession plan and is in need of a Police Officer Recruit position; and WHEREAS, staff is recommending the implementation of a Police Officer Recruit position for the Police Department to fill the current and future needs of the department; and WHEREAS, staff is proposing the job classification of Police Officer Recruit that would also include a salary classification establishing a new hourly salary range.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Gonzales hereby (1) Approves the job classification for Police Officer Recruit, (2) Adopts the attached job description, marked herein as “Exhibit A”, and (3) Establishes salary for the Police Officer Recruit of $28 per hour.
