Primary Actions Since May 20, 2024, Update
• Draft Development Agreement Nearly Completed
• Draft Affordable Housing Agreement Nearly Completed
• Draft Environmental Impact Report has been Circulated for Public Review • Final Environmental Impact Report has been written and will soon be ready • Progress on Staff Reports & Exhibits, LAFCO Plan For Services Vista Lucia Specific Plan –
Our Public Outreach Efforts are Increasing Awareness
• On July 4, 2024 – Leaflets and handouts in Spanish and English • Two workers went person to person and introduced the new community plan.
• Following July 4, 2024, Pembrook Development Group reported that their website and the Vista Lucia Community Page started getting a lot of internet hits and that people left emails and messages expressing interest and wanting to know more.
• City started the “Interested In Housing” list and we are collecting names, phone numbers and emails. Persons will be notified.

Our Public Outreach Efforts are Increasing Awareness
• Walk in traffic at the public counter, telephone calls and emails to staff have steadily increased, asking about the new community. • On Saturday July 13, 2024, the City hosted the United Way of Monterey County who conducted a Financial Literacy Seminar for Spanish Speakers.
• The meeting was well attended and very informative and useful • City staff was present to Introduce the coming Vista Lucia Community Plan, and the timelines and challenges ahead. • People were supportive, engaged and even excited.

• Staff added the Gonzales City participants names to the Interested In Housing list.
• On Monday August 5, 2024, staff attended the Farmworker Housing Study Oversight Committee hosted by MBEP at the United Way Offices in Salinas.
• Many Public, Private and Non-Profit sector players were in the room and Zoom, including CHISPA and Affordable Housing Interests. • Assembly Chair Robert Rivas’s Office was in attendance and listening.

• On Monday August 5, 2024, staff attended the Farmworker Housing Study Oversight Committee hosted by MBEP at the United Way Offices in Salinas. (continued)
• City of Gonzales staff introduced the Vista Lucia Project and our City’s long effort to bring this project to reality.
• Some attendees were interested in even their own personal housing needs and asked to be placed on the Interested In Housing List. • City Staff to continue with quarterly updates to the City Council
