RESOLUTION NO. 2024-66
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES APPROVING PARKING REGULATIONS DATED NOVEMBER 4, 2024, AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION 2018-03
WHEREAS, the City of Gonzales desires to promote public safety through updated parking regulations; and
WHEREAS, the California Vehicle Code Sections 21100 (Traffic Control Devices), 21102 (Road Crossings), and 22507 (Parking Restrictions), authorize local authorities to restrict parking by adopting parking regulations by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Gonzales City Code Sections 8.20.010 (Parking Zones), 8.20.020 (Time Limits), 8.20.050 (Preferential Parking by Permit), 8.20.060 (Compliance with Signs), 8.24.010 (Loading and Passenger Loading Zones), 8.24.020 (Bus Zones), and 8.24.030 (Curb Markings), provide that the City Council may by resolution establish parking regulations, loading zones, and other parking zones; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that public safety will be improved by amending the “City of Gonzales Parking Regulations” as adopted in Resolution No. 2018-03; NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Gonzales as follows:
1. The City Council hereby adopts the attached “City of Gonzales Parking Regulations” dated November 4, 2024 deleting previous versions; and
2. The Public Works Director is hereby authorized and directed to install and maintain the appropriate signage and/or markings to enforce “City of Gonzales Parking Regulations” per Gonzales City Code 8.20.010 B & C; and
3. Resolution 2018-03, adopted January 16, 2018, concerning parking regulations, is hereby rescinded.
