A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT NO. 2 UNDER THE EXECUTED
MASTER SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH PROFESSIONAL SERVICE INDUSTRIES IN THE AMOUNT OF $72,000 FOR MATERIALS TESTING AND SPECIAL INSPECTION SERVICES WHICH INCLUDES A CONTINGENCY OF $7,342 DURING CONSTRUCTION OF PHASE 1 OF THE COMMUNITY CENTER COMPLEX PROJECT
WHEREAS, design and construction of the Community Center Complex Project will be funded by a variety of sources including the Measure X (local sales tax), $5.0 M State grant secured by State Senator Anna Caballero, Community Development Block Grant monies, $1.8M County contribution to relocate existing library from the Gonzales Shopping Center, Various grants and a Capital Campaign with a $10.0 million goal; and
WHEREAS, staff issued a Request for Proposals on April 1, 2024 to consultants for Materials Testing and Special Inspection services and two proposals were received by the April 11, 2024 deadline; and
WHEREAS, at the May 6, 2024 Council meeting, a consulting services agreement was approved with Professional Service Industries (PSI) for Materials Testing and Special Inspection services for the Community Center Complex project; and
WHEREAS, to date PSI has provided 41 special inspection and material testing requests related to soil sampling, concrete mix design and placement of reinforcing steel and structural steel, and WHEREAS, the level of effort for Materials Testing and Special Inspection services has exceeded PSI’s initial estimate due to grading observation requirements in the project Geotechnical report; and
WHEREAS, City staff recommends that the Council authorize execution of Amendment No. 2 under the Master Services Agreement with PSI in the amount of $72,000 for Materials Testing and Special Inspection services which includes a contingency of $7,342 for Phase 1 of the Community Center Complex project.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Gonzales that the City Manager is authorized to execute Amendment No. 2 under the Master Services Agreement with PSI for Materials Testing and Special Inspection services in the amount of $72,000 which includes a contingency of $7,342.
