Subject: Amendment Consideration for Engineering Support Services During Bidding for Industrial Wastewater (IW) Conveyance Pipeline and Industrial Wastewater Treatment Facility (IWTF) Projects (Task Order 01)
Dear Patrick Dobbins:
Thank you for the opportunity to continue to be of service to the City of Gonzales (City). This letter proposal is presented to consider amendment of our task order for engineering support services during bidding of the Industrial Wastewater (IW) Conveyance Pipeline and Industrial Wastewater Treatment Facility (IWTF) Projects (Task Order 01), originally submitted and approved in June 2024. The original proposal included scope of services to assist with finalization of the IW conveyance pipeline bid and IWTF bidding documents, including update of design drawings, technical specifications and cost estimates, as well as additional services during bidding such as pre-bid meeting support, preparation of addenda and response to questions, bid evaluation support and conformed document preparation.
At the time the original proposal was prepared, Dudek had not yet been provided constructability comments on the IWTF design from the City’s and the City’s Construction Manager’s (MNS) review. Dudek was provided comments to these documents and has been working to incorporate these comments. The comments necessitated additional efforts, including from our subconsultants that were not included in the original scope of work and fee estimate including the following:
• Additional design efforts from architectural / HVAC sub (MBN) and electrical subconsultant (DTN) to incorporate ADA requirements at the IWTF Operations Building • Additional design efforts from structural engineer (Kelsey Structural) to address constructability comments and incorporate the latest California Building Code iteration (CBC 2022) • Additional design efforts from DTN to incorporate new SCADA standards TO: PATRICK DOBBINS

Additionally, the City has requested Dudek include in the IWTF bidding documents provisions for six (6) new groundwater monitoring wells to be installed near the existing and future ITWF percolation ponds.
As of early December, there remains a portion of the originally allocated budget for Task Order 01. However, that budget is expected to be expended within the next month. Dudek requests consideration of additional funds of $59,805. These additional funds would be utilized for the additional scope of services to complete the IWTF bid documents. Dudek anticipates completion of the bid documents by mid-December 2024.
