Finally on April 27th we celebrated a day that so many of us have been waiting for – the groundbreaking of the Dennis and Janice Caprara Community Center Complex. The day was In The month of March is always a busy one for City staff. Not only are staff working through the dayto-day activities, but they also begin to prepare for the summer programming. Stay tuned as we announce the opening date for the pool and summer camp.

March was also exciting as we kicked off our newest mural project made possible through a collaboration with Blue Zones and the Singh Family. This beautiful mural will be displayed on the corner of Belden and Fourth Streets on the Singh’s building. The design was derived from input received through a community survey. The artist is Jesus Nunez, a local muralist whose talents adorn sites in Salinas and Soledad. We are lucky to have one of his pieces here in our town. Once completed, we hope you can join us for its formal unveiling. More information will be forthcoming on the date. Make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to get the latest news on this project and others.

AGENDA
ITEM
Housing
On March 10th, the Planning Commission heard the Vista Lucia Housing Project and made a recommendation to move it forward to the City Council for approval. The next step in the process is for the Council to consider the project. If the Council decides to approve the project, it will then go to LAFCo for consideration as we need to annex the land into the City and expand our boundaries.

For more information on the project and its status, email us at [email protected].

Community Garden
Thank You to everyone who came out to the Community Garden Day on March 29th! It was a great day! The Garden is looking better and better every day! Please remember this is for you to enjoy! Help us keep it nice and neat.
