Construction Progress Summary
During the month of March (2025), construction on the Gonzales Community Center project continued to advance steadily, maintaining alignment with the project’s baseline schedule. The project team celebrated completion of the building dry in milestone, marking a key achievement in the construction timeline.

Site Improvements
Site work continued to progress, specifically the exterior site concrete scope of work. Grade Break (concrete subcontractor) successfully installed reinforcement at the three courtyard seat walls, one of the two courtyard planter walls, and the retaining wall along the western boundary of the property. The retaining wall footing and one of the three seatwall footings were poured this month. The remaining seatwall footings and planter footing will be poured next month, along with the vertical section of the retaining wall. Additionally Grade Break focused on sawcutting weakened plane joints throughout the concrete flatwork that has been poured to date.

Collins Electric’s site work efforts this month focused on pulling wire for exterior lighting and site power.

Building Exterior
On the building exterior, Royal Glass focused on installation of glazing at the curtain wall and storefront systems; followed by pressure bar and beauty cap installation. The building is now protected from the elements, which was celebrated by the project team, by hosting a small gathering at the jobsite for project stakeholders, donors and the local community. Preparation for exterior finishes continued, with Rua & Sons continuing to install wall flashing at the exterior EIFS walls, and Brady West continuing to install the EIFS system, starting on the exterior, North elevation.

Building Interior
Interior construction activities focused on critical drywall work and electrical work. Collins installed sub panels throughout the building and continued to pull wire. Drywall has been installed on both sides of the interior walls and the screw inspections have been completed, with exception of two partial hard lid ceilings at restrooms A108 and A109, which will be completed after pending light fixtures are installed. Lastly, countertop and casework in-wall bracket supports were installed this month.

Continuous multi-discipline coordination will continue moving forward, to ensure efficiency in execution of upcoming work.
