RESOLUTION NO. 2025-21
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN THE CITY OF GONZALES AND THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS LOCAL 5388, FOR THE PERIOD COVERING JANUARY 1, 2025 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2025
WHEREAS, the City of Gonzales and the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 5388 entered into a two-year MOU for the period of January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024; and WHEREAS, the City was notified by the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 5388 in January 2025 to begin negotiations for a successor MOU; and WHEREAS, the City and the Association began negotiations in February 2025 and reached a Tentative Agreement on May 9, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gonzales was notified on May 12, 2025, that the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 5388 ratification of the Tentative Agreement was deemed to be on May 9th since the majority of the membership was in attendance when the Tentative Agreement was reached.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Gonzales hereby approves the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Gonzales and the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 5388, for the period covering January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025.
