RESOLUTION NO. 2025-23
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A TRAILER MOUNTED TRASH PUMP FOR THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $95,000
WHEREAS, Public Works staff use a pump at the Wastewater Treatment Plant to fill and empty disposal ponds to maximize percolation of treated wastewater and allow staff to perform maintenance on the ponds; and
WHEREAS, The existing pump is 25 years old and no longer able to pump the amount of wastewater needed; and
WHEREAS, Staff obtained the following three quotes for a new pump:

Muniquip (Grundfos) $110,000 18 weeks
Muniquip (Gorman Rupp) $114,400 18 weeks
WHEREAS, Staff recommends purchasing the pump from PAC Machine Company due to its lower cost, it is easier to obtain parts for and get serviced, and the shorter delivery time that will reduce the need to rent a pump; and
WHEREAS, Funding for this $95,000 purchase will come from the Sewer Enterprise Fund (GL310-000-57030) and sufficient funds are available.; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Gonzales hereby authorizes the purchase of a trailer mounted trash pump from PAC Machine Company for the wastewater treatment plant in the amount of $95,000.
