RESOLUTION NO. 2025-63
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES AWARDING THE 2025 SLURRY SEAL PROJECT TO PAVEMENT COATINGS COMPANY,
REJECTING OTHER SUMBITTED BIDS, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING CITY STAFF
TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH PAVEMENT COATINGS COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF $240,000 WHICH INCLUDES $13,500 CONTINGENCY FOR UNFORSEEN FIELD CONDITIONS WHEREAS, staff issued the 2025 Slurry Seal Project for bid on June 26, 2025; and WHEREAS, on July 23, 2025, the City received three bids for the project:

3 Pavement Coatings Company $226,500
WHEREAS, staff confirmed that Pavement Coatings Company provided the lowest responsive and responsible bid, and that Pavement Coatings Company is qualified to undertake the proposed work and willing to perform the same on a timely basis; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that the Council authorize a contract with Pavement Coatings Company for the not-to-exceed in the amount of $240,000 which includes a $13,500 contingency for unforeseen field conditions for the 2025 Slurry Seal Project; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Gonzales that Pavement Coatings Company submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid for the 2025 Slurry Seal Contract, that the City accepts Pavement Coatings Company bid and that the contract is hereby awarded to the Pavement Coatings Company, All other bids are rejected, and the City Manager is directed to notify all other bidders in writing of the City’s decision.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized and further directed to prepare and execute the appropriate contract with Pavement Coatings Company in the amount of $240,000.
