RESOLUTION NO. 2025-64
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES
ADOPTING A TRAFFIC CALMING POLICY
WHEREAS, traffic calming is a method of employing specific measures to address speeding and other unacceptable driver behavior on local City streets; and WHEREAS, adoption of a Traffic Calming Policy will replace the City’s informal process to consider resident’s requests to addressing unsafe driver behavior on local City streets; and WHEREAS, staff engaged TL Engineering to prepare a Traffic Calming Policy; and WHEREAS, staff presented the draft Traffic Calming Policy at the July 21, 2025 City Council meeting; and
WHEREAS, staff updated the Traffic Calming Policy based on comments received at the July 21, 2025 Council meeting and recommends adoption of the Traffic Calming Policy.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Gonzales that the Traffic Calming Policy attached as Exhibit A is hereby adopted for use by City staff in reviewing resident’s requests.
