Vaccinations Save Lives
Did You Know?
• Getting the flu can raise your risk of going to the hospital or even dying from heart problems. In a study that looked at 9,000 people, getting the flu shot lowered the chance of having a serious heart problem by 34%. • Last winter, Salinas Valley Health cared for more than 200 patients who were very sick with the flu or RSV (respiratory syncytial virus). There are safe vaccines that can help protect you or make these illnesses less serious.
