STAFFING
A candidate has been selected to fill the vacant Firefighter position and is expected to start on October 9th.
We currently have three Volunteer Firefighter applicants that are working the way through the selection process.
TRAINING
Training for the month continued to focus on fundamentals and standard operating procedures with the new firefighters. Our crews were able to get together with the crew from Monterey County Regional for a joint training exercise, and have more planned for the month of October. Our annual 8-hour hazardous materials refresher training will take place in October.
EQUIPMENT
The new engine has been delivered, and we are working on getting the hose, tools, and other equipment moved over to it from Engine 8112. There has been a delay in finding a service technician to install the AGENDA
ITEM
8 mobile radios into the new engine, but we hope to have that completed by October 24th. All other apparatus remains in service.
PREVENTION
Annual business inspections and residential rental inspections were conducted as needed. Crews made one classroom visit, as well as a visit to Salad Bowl Boxing.
