A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GONZALES
HONORING DANIEL BALDWIN UPON HIS SELECTION AS THE RECIPIENT OF THE 2025 COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARD
WHEREAS, Daniel (Dan) Baldwin has led the Community Foundation for Monterey County as President/CEO since 2010; and
WHEREAS, he is responsible for setting the overall vision of the Community Foundation for Monterey County (Foundation), stewarding the Foundation’s resources to meet changing needs, and helping donors meet their philanthropic goals, whether through donor advised or scholarship funds, or charitable estate planning; and
WHEREAS, under his leadership, the Foundation has grown from 300 funds and $130 million in charitable assets to more than 900 funds and $476 million in assets at year-end 2025. Annual grants awarded increased from $6.5 million in 2010 to more than $50 million in 2025, including an increase in scholarships from $165,000 to more than $2 million; and WHEREAS, he leads the Foundation in responding to changing needs, including the creation of multiple disaster relief funds; and
WHEREAS, under his leadership, the Foundation has been a leader, broker and collaborator especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, the fires, and recent floods; and WHEREAS, his support for Gonzales has been crucial as the Foundation has been a key partner in securing the funding for the Dennis and Janice Caprara Community Center Complex; and WHEREAS, Dan chaired the League of California Community Foundations’ Public Policy Committee for many years, and chaired the League for two years. He is a member of the Council on Foundations Community Foundation Advisory Group and serves on the Community Foundation Awareness Initiative steering committee.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Gonzales, on behalf the community and its residents, hereby congratulates Dan Baldwin upon his selection as the recipient of the 2025 Community Impact Award.
