Make sure you say hello and give them a
warm welcome when you see them out in
the field.

The GYC also worked on fulfilling one of their action projects for the year which was to create a Free Food Pantry at the Community Garden. On March 28th, they hosted a Community Gardening Day and showcased the new Free Food Pantry.

Gonzales Fire Department Parcel Tax
The Gonzales Parcel Tax (Measure B) will be on the June 2nd Ballot. The proposed tax is needed to support the Fire Department’s staffing and operations. With costs continuing to rise, the City needs to look at other ways to fund this essential service. Without new revenue coming in, the City will find it hard to maintain this service locally, resulting in delayed response times and putting us all at risk. Funding generated through Measure B would strictly go to the Fire Department and there would be local oversight to ensure that stays the case. The propsed tax is $349.00 per single-family unit and $262 per multifamily unit annually. For more information on the tax, visit the City’s website at gonzalesca.gov.
