NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS
Pursuant to Elections Code section 10010(a), before a political subdivision that is changing from an atlarge method of election to a by-trustee area method of election draws a draft map or maps of the proposed boundaries of the trustee areas, the political subdivision shall hold at least two public hearings at which the public is invited to provide input regarding the composition of the trustee areas.

The transition to a by-trustee area election system and the composition of potential trustee voting areas in advance of the preparation of draft trustee voting area plans by the City’s demographer.
Virtual Attendance Only and Remote Viewing Options:
The City Council for the City of Greenfield will be holding its first pre-map public hearing on Monday, January 31, 2022, and will be holding its second pre-map public hearing on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Consistent with Assembly Bill (AB) 361, the City Council will hold these meetings virtually only, without in-person attendance by the public and without a physical location for public participation. Further, and consistent with AB 361, the meetings are accessible for public participation through video conferencing and livestreaming.
The public hearings to be held on Monday, January 31, 2022, and Thursday, February 3, 2022, will only be accessible online and may be viewed through the following options:

Public comments will be permitted in the following formats: (1) through Zoom, and (2) through email. If you wish to make a public comment through Zoom, please use the “raise your hand” feature during the public comment section of the agenda that you wish to comment on. You will be selected by the meeting host and will be allowed to say your comment aloud.
If you wish to make a public comment through email, please submit your public comment to [email protected]. Please be advised that public comments submitted through email must be received no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon) on the day of the applicable meeting. Comments submitted through email on time will be incorporated into the City Council Agenda and made part of the record for the applicable meeting. Whether comments submitted by email are read aloud at the meeting is at the discretion of the City Council. Comments submitted by email that are not received on time will not be accepted. Please be aware that written public comments, including your name, may become public information.
