GRIDLEY CITY COUNCIL AGENDA: Special Meeting of 6-18-2026 Page 1 of 1 Fire Chief Jason Dyer presented the Cooperative Agreement between the City of Gridley and CAL FIRE for Fiscal Year 2026/27. Chief Dyer provided an overview of the agreement, highlighting the services and responsibilities covered by Butte County and explaining what the City's funding contribution covers under the agreement.

Vice Mayor Johnson suggested renting out the City's new ladder truck since it is a specialized equipment. While Chief Dyer acknowledged the suggestion, he explained that when neighboring jurisdictions request assistance, they typically reciprocate by providing assistance to the City when needed, rather than through rental or payment arrangements.

Mayor Farr inquired about the increase from the prior fiscal year. Chief Dyer explained that the increase was primarily attributable to the implementation of the 66-hour workweek previously approved by the City Council, which is being phased in over multiple fiscal years.

City Administrator Elisa Arteaga informed the Council that City staff continues to pursue funding opportunities to help offset the costs of both Fire and Police services.
