Subject: Public Comments: Grover Beach Homeless Population City Council Members,
My name is Josh Jones and my family resides on Margarita Avenue. My wife and I have 3 children and have loved everything about living in Grover Beach and the Central Coast. Most importantly, we love our home, its location, our neighbors and the safety and security we feel living here.
It's sad to say all of that is changing. Due to the increased population of the homeless camp between El Camino and Margarita Avenue, we are no longer safe. We consistently have homeless people casing our homes and looking into our vehicles. The beautiful wooded area is now littered with trash, pallets, tarps and fire hazards. The fun trail off of Margarita my kids used to enjoy is now off limits due to the homeless and drug paraphernalia. I travel often for work and my family no longer feels safe at home alone. My children are no longer allowed to play in the front yard or ride their bikes down the block.
This is not the future I had in mind for my family living in Grover Beach.
We've done everything the City officials, Police Departments and elected officials have asked us to do and nothing is changing. In fact, it has gotten worse.
What are you doing to keep my family safe? What are you doing to clean up our neighborhood? What are you doing to address the homeless population that have overtaken our City? Thanks
Josh Jones
