PROCLAMATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GROVER BEACH Declaring June 2022
“Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, And Queer Pride Month” WHEREAS, the City of Grover Beach is honored to recognize Pride Month and celebrate members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer community who live and work here; and
WHEREAS, the City aligns with countywide and statewide initiatives and policies that advance the LGBTQ community’s journey toward equality, and strives to create a safe, inclusive society in which all community members are treated fairly, with dignity and respect in all settings; and
WHEREAS, last year marked the first year of flying the Pride flag at Grover Beach City Hall as a symbol of support for the LGBTQ community which the City will fly again in June 2022; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grover Beach takes pride in the fact that we are a vibrant, diverse community and proudly joins other communities in striving to build a stronger, better state and nation for all residents; and
WHEREAS, as June 2022 marks the 53nd anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in New York City, the City of Grover Beach is dedicated to continuing efforts to ensure equality and respect for all; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Grover Beach does hereby designates June 2022 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Pride Month.
