Correspondence for Item 13. Approval of Ground Lease with 5Cities Homeless Coalition for Homeless Housing Facility Use at City-Owned Property at 955 South 4th Street
Honorable Mayor and esteemed Council:

On behalf of the 5CHC Board, leadership, staff and most importantly our clients, I am writing to express our sincere appreciation and support for Item 13: Approval of Ground Lease with 5Cities Homeless Coalition for Homeless Housing Facility Use at City-Owned Property at 955 South 4th Street on this evening’s agenda. We are grateful for the City's continued support of our work on behalf of your community evidences by the purchase of and now a ground lease of this parcel. The opportunities it will provide for non-congregate temporary housing will be significant in our efforts to provide shelter and temporary housing to those living without housing in our community.

In particular, we know that such a project as contemplated does not come about without significant forethought and dedication. We commend the City of Grover Beach for its commitment to all residents and willingness to take the lead in addressing homelessness and housing. Throughout the process of acquiring the parcel and now developing the ground lease, your staff has been responsive, diligent and thoughtful.

With your action tonight, 5CHC will be able to begin the next phase of planning to develop the project that will be operated on this parcel. We look forward to our continued partnership as we design and develop a use that meets our community's needs for the years to come.

Thank you again for your leadership and long-standing support.
