PROCLAMATION OF THE GROVER BEACH CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GROVER BEACH DECLARING
SEPTEMBER 26, 2022 as
”NATIONAL HUMAN RESOURCES PROFESSIONAL DAY”
WHEREAS, in October 2013, Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen created Human Resources Professional Day (H.R. Professional Day) to recognize and celebrate human resource professionals because they play an integral role in ensuring the success of organizations by nurturing and developing human capital; and
WHEREAS, H.R. professionals carry out multiple tasks in an organization, by following important legislation, helping co-workers get paid, and planning those fun company parties after a long year’s work; and
WHEREAS, Human resource professionals aren't often given credit for their work, but Human Resource Professional Day aims to honor and give credit to human resource professionals, and encourages people to learn more about human resource jobs and their importance to companies; and
WHEREAS, Human resource (HR) departments and the professionals who work in them make sure businesses and companies run smoothly; they influence their direction, helping to develop, build, and shape their values and work in staffing, where they attract talent and develop and train employees; and
WHEREAS, H.R. Professional Day is all about thanking and appreciating the hard work of H.R. staff since they handle the most difficult situations, such as staff negotiations, corporate liaison, and legislation interpreting; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Grover Beach does herby officially proclaim that September 26, 2022 as National Human Resources Professional Day, and further extend the utmost respect and appreciation of the City Council and all City Hall Staff to Karla Mattocks, Management Analyst-Human Resources for the vital services she performs for the City of Grover Beach.
