Thank you Council and City staff for bringing forward plans to improve Ramona Garden Park!
Construction of a playground area at the north side of the park is a great way to activate the underutilized space. Any of the proposed playground concepts will certainly attract many families from Grover Beach and the Five Cities area. For my family, this would create a walkable destination park, with amenities on par with Dinosaur Caves Park or Sinsheimer Park. The new and improved 16th Street Park is also pretty great (kudos to the Public Works CIP team).
Of the concepts, we really like the look of the Great Western and Play and Park options. The color palette of the Great Western looks the best, and the zipline included in the Play and Park is a unique feature that doesn't exist in any south county parks.
Parks are a great investment in our community parks and I hope that funding is appropriated to make Phase 1 realized.
