SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
MONDAY, APRIL 22, 2024
CALL TO ORDER Mayor Bright called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chamber, 154 South Eighth Street, Grover Beach, California.
ROLL CALL
City Council: Council Members Daniel Rushing, Clint Weirick, Zach Zimmerman, Mayor Pro Tern Robert Robert, and Mayor Karen Bright were present.
City Staff: City Manager Matthew Bronson, City Attorney Rob Lomeli, Assistant City Manager Kristin Eriksson, City Clerk Wendi Sims and Human Resources Officer Karla Mattocks and Partner Che Johnson with Liebert Cassidy Whitmore were on the teleconference line for the Closed Session.)
PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
The Mayor opened the floor to any member of the public for comment on any items listed on the agenda. No comments were received and the Mayor closed the Public Communications segment for this portion of the meeting.
CLOSED SESSION
Mayor Bright recessed the meeting into closed session at 5:02 p.m.
It is the intention of the City Council to meet in Closed Session concerning the following item:
A. Conference with Labor Negotiators Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.6.
Agency designated representatives: Special Counsel Che Johnson, City Manager Matthew Bronson, Adm in. Services Director Nick Szamet, Finance Manger Lorena Zarate, and Human Resource Officer Karla Mattocks.
Employee Organizations: Service Employees International Union, Local 620 (SEIU), Management and Confidential Group, Executive Management Group, and Grover Beach Police Management and Confidential Employees Group.
Closed Session announcement(s): The City Council reconvened at 5:33 p.m. and Mayor Bright announced there was no reportable action.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the City Council, Mayor Bright adjourned the meeting at 5:33 p.m.
