Subject: appeal of the 5 story Rockaway bldg
Date: Sunday, November 9, 2025 6:09:54 PM
Dear City Council,
I am vehemently opposed to the construction of the hideous 5 story building proposed on Rockaway and ANY buildings in Grover Beach above the 40' height limit.

These buildings on and around Grand Ave. are absolutely destroying our small beach town. I am positive if you speak to your constituents you will find they agree and do NOT want this type of growth. Please represent US and stop this atrocious building expansion now.

Subject: Item 6 public comment GB city council 11/10/2025 Date: Monday, November 10, 2025 1:31:39 PM
Dear Council,
I write as a neighbor asking you to deny the appeal of Development Application 24-54, Item 6.

The proposed project includes two Affordable homes for low-income buyers (10% of the units). You don't need me to explain how important all of them are to increasing supply and reducing rent increases and the displacement of our residents.

It is typical for builders of Affordable homes to take five or more years to assemble financing from federal and state grants and non-profits to subsidize the cost to build.

This applicant is a local small business owner who is able to forego that lengthy process because state law and our 2022 building code changes make it possible for them to build enough market-rate homes to subsidize the Affordable ones.

This is the true spirit of neighbors helping neighbors.

The appellant appears to have a vendetta against these changes. The changes were developed collaboratively over many remote public meetings to meet our 2020-2028 Housing Element RHNA allotment. So because of the pandemic emergency, the process was actually more accessible than normal.

Let us not set the precedent that if an aggrieved individual has enough time and money, they can block the kinds of walkable, accessible homes the rest of us worked so hard to make possible.

Please vote to deny the appeal.

Thank you,
Rachel Mann

Subject: Appeal of Planning Commission Approval of Development App. No 24-54 Date: Monday, November 10, 2025 3:45:11 PM
I do not agree with the approval of the development application No 24-54. Grover Beach does not need 5 story buildings, especially buildings that aren't beachy.

You all have forgotten about the needs of GB residents. You only think about what Mr Bronson and the developers want. Please, you can all come up with something that is fair and legal.

Thank you.
