Mayor Penrose called the meeting to order at 5:34 p.m. and led the pledge of allegiance.

1. DISCUSSION ITEM
1.A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO TO SUPPORT AN APPLICATION FOR THE JOE SERNA, JR. FARMWORKER HOUSING GRANT
HOMEOWNERSHIP PROGRAM AND JOINTLY DEVELOP AN AFFORDABLE FARMWORKER
HOUSING PROJECT
City Manager Chidester presented the staff report.
The following individual addressed the Council:

The Council indicated support for the program.
MOTION
Councilmember Ruddock moved and Councilmember Rarback seconded a motion to adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the County of San Mateo to support the submission of an application for a grant award in an amount up to $5,000,000 from the State of California Department of Housing and Community Development under the Joe Serna, Jr. Farmworker Housing Grant Homeownership Program, and collaborate in the development of an affordable farmworker housing project in Half Moon Bay or the surrounding San Mateo County. The question was called and the motion carried unanimously.
