AGENDA

STAFF REPORT

MEETING DATE: 12/5/2024 AGENDA SECTION: GENERAL BUSINESS

SUBJECT:

Council: Receive and discuss the list of Committees and Boards that have representation appointed directly by the Council. Following this discussion, the Council is requested to approve the proposed appointments through a formal vote.

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation:

That the City Council receive and discuss the list of committees and boards that have representation appointed directly by the Council. Following this discussion, the Council is requested to approve the proposed appointments through a formal vote.

BACKGROUND:

The attached list represents the appointments initially made at the December 2, 2022, Special City Council meeting and updated assignments we made during the June 4, 2024, City Council meeting when Council Member Devine was appointed to the vacant seat in District B. Staff recommends that Council review the list and advise the Mayor on any specific interest in a particular committee or task force. Interest should be expressed regardless of whether a current vacancy exists. Additionally, if a Council Member is currently a member of a particular committee that he no longer wishes to serve in that capacity, the Council Member should notify the Mayor that they are no longer interested.

The Mayor will then make a recommendation to the full Council regarding which representatives will serve on the various boards and committees for the 2025 term.
