RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation to discuss and consider approving a donation to Artesia High School.
SUMMARY
Artesia High School Girls Volleyball team won their first ever CIF-SS Girls Volleyball Championship on November 8, 2025. The head coach of Artesia High School Girls Volleyball Team, Francisco Serrano, is requesting a $5,000 monetary donation to help assist the team in purchasing championship rings.
As a reference for past donations, the City Council donated $3,000 to the Artesia High School Girls Soccer team on March 19, 2024, after their CIF Championship win; and $3,000 to the Artesia High School Boys Soccer team on March 8, 2022, after their CIF Championship win.
FISCAL IMPACT
The donated amount would come out of the FY 2025-2026 budget.
