SUMMARY
On May 28, 2025, the City Council approved the plans and specifications and awarded the construction contract to the lowest responsive bidder Courtney, Inc., in the amount of $507,240.
The project’s scope of work included the removal and replacement of the existing roof, including furnishing roofing materials (PVC Single Ply Roofing System), air ducts, roof drains and screens, and rain gutters.
On August 13, 2025, the City Council authorized the City Manager to approve a change order in the amount of $546,367, as recommended by Public Works staff, for the replacement of the roof at the C. Robert Lee Activity Center building. The change order scope of work included the replacement of roofing at the racquetball courts, staff offices, and hallway areas, and was awarded to Courtney, Inc.
This project re-roofed approximately 23,000 square feet of roofing area for the C. Robert Lee and the City Hall Administration Buildings to prevent water penetration and damage to the buildings' roof structure. The PVC (polyvinyl chloride) roof is made of recyclable, environmentally friendly, lightweight, flexible, and UV-resistant thermoplastic material that is considered a fire-safe and energy-efficient material and is expected to last 20- 25 years.
The City received a 20-year manufacturer’s warranty for the roofing materials and a fiveyear warranty from Courtney, Inc. for workmanship and contractor-installed materials within the project limits.
