Recognition Presentation
2025-2026
1 About Youth @ Work
The Youth@Work Program was launched back in 2006, and provides job training, employment opportunities, and supportive services for youth. The City of Hawaiian Gardens partnered with Selaco / Youth@Work since 2014 to help local residents ages 14–24 gain valuable work experience and career development opportunities.

The program primarily serves youth who may face barriers to employment, including school dropouts, foster or homeless youth, transition-aged youth (TAY), individuals from low-income households, LGBTQ+ youth, pregnant or parenting youth, youth with disabilities, and English language learners.

Participants complete 160 hours in the program, including 20 hours of personal enrichment training and 140 hours of paid work experience, earning $17.87 per hour while working with employer partners. This experience helps participants build skills, gain professional exposure, and prepare for future career opportunities. 2 Application
Process & Eligibility

who have the right to work in the United
States can apply for the Youth@Work
