RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation to approve excused absences from City Council meetings for Mayor Maria Teresa Del Rio due to medical reasons for meetings held between May 19, 2026 through June 30, 2026.
SUMMARY
Per California Government Code Section 36513, if a councilmember is absent without permission from all regular city council meetings for 60 days consecutively from the last regular meeting he or she attended, his or her office becomes vacant.
Mayor Maria Teresa Del Rio has notified the City that she is unable to attend Council Meetings due to medical reasons commencing on May 19, 2026 through June 30, 2026.
This action formally excuses her absence for any meetings held during such period.
